Audiences in cinemas across the country will soon get a sneak preview of the films coming to the UK big screen this summer.

The ‘Summer of Film’ trailer, produced by the Film Distributors’ Association (FDA) and screened with the support of the Cinema Exhibitors’ Association, will treat cinema-goers to short extracts from the following upcoming features:

Adulthood, Angus Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, Caramel, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, The Dark Knight, The Duchess, The Fox and the Child, Get Smart, Gone Baby Gone, Hancock, The Happening, Hellboy 2, The Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Iron Man, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Kung Fu Panda, Mamma Mia!, The Oxford Murders, Priceless, Sex and the City, Speed Racer, Superhero Movie, Teeth, WALL-E and Wanted.

The aim is to remind audiences that this summer UK cinema screens will be the first and best place to see some of the most entertaining and exciting films of recent years. This year’s preview follows on from a similar initiative last year, which saw summer cinema attendances up by 25 per cent compared to 2006.

Commenting on the trailer, FDA Chief Executive Mark Batey said:

‘The trailer reflects the excitement that the industry feels about the quality and variety of film on offer to audiences this summer. We are sure cinema-goers will appreciate this early chance to see what’s coming up on the big screen in the next few months.’

The trailer will be showing in many cinemas across the UK from this weekend.
