Latest figures show that UK cinema admission in October were 13.5 million, a 3.8 per cent increase on the same month in 2008 and the best October admissions figure since 2005.
Key to October’s strong showing was the Disney Pixar adventure Up!,which has to date taken over £28 million in box office.
Total recorded admissions for 2009 now stand at 142.4 million, 2.7 per cent up on the same point in 2008. With two months to go and figures for tent pole movies such as Twilight: New Moon and Avatar still to come, everything points to another very strong year for cinema.
