National Schools Film Week (NSFW) – the industry-backed festival of film for children and young people across the UK – kicks off this week in England Wales and Northern Ireland.

Organised and delivered by the industry-funded charity Film Education, NSFW will this year involve a record number of almost half a million young people attending over 2,000 screenings at 560 different cinema sites. For many, and not just the youngest, this may be their very first trip to the cinema.

Given the differing school term dates, NSFW continues in Scotland from 28 October – 5 November.

The logistics of delivering such an enormous natinoal event are truly astounding, requiring the full input and support of members of both the Cinema Exhibitors’ Association and the Film Distributors’ Association.
