Cinema First and the price comparison company comparethemarket.com have today announced the biggest ever UK cinema ticket promotion – ‘Meerkat Movies’.
A nationwide promotion which will offer cinema-goers a 2 for 1 ticket offer every Tuesday or Wednesday, the new promotion will be backed by an unprecedented advertising and media campaign when it begins on Good Friday 3 April.
Developed in partnership with Cinema First, the industry body representing UK cinema operators and film distributors, the promotion comes at a time when UK box office is already buoyant, boosted by a great start to 2015 and with an extraordinarily strong slate of films across the rest of the year and into 2016 and beyond.
In order to qualify for the promotion, cinema-goers will need to buy any qualifying product via the company’s price comparison website www.comparethemarket.com. That will entitle them to a year’s worth of 2 for 1 tickets, to be used on either a Tuesday or Wednesday each week at participating cinemas. Full details on the offer can now be found here.
In the run-up to the launch on Friday 3 April, the company will also open up the offer to existing customers for the lifetime of any current annual policy.
