July cinema admissions in the UK saw a continuation of the strong performance that has typified 2015 so far.

Boosted by the performance of films such as The Minions MovieInside Out and Ant-Man as well as that of Jurassic World – now the eight biggest-grossing film ever at the UK box office – admissions for the month were, at 15,869,636, just under 20 per cent up on the same period last year, putting the year to date over 11 per cent up on 2014.

With an exceptionally strong slate towards the end of the year in particular – including the final instalment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Spectre and Star Wars: The Force Awakens – all expectations are that that performance will be matched if not exceeded by year end.
