The UK Cinema Association today announced details of its upcoming one day conference, Engage | Reward | Grow: Marketing the big screen.

The event – open to Association members and the wider industry alike – will take place on Tuesday 17 November at the new Picturehouse Central Cinema in London.

After the success of last year’s event, which looked at issues around cinema technology, the Association sought views on potential topics for a follow-up conference in 2015. The issue of marketing, and how to grow cinema audiences and revenue, was by some way the most popular suggestion.

The 2015 event will look at the following key themes:
– what more operators might do to market the big screen experience;
– how they can maximise revenue from their audience; and
– what lessons there are to be learnt not just from within the industry but from other relevant sectors.

With presentations from The Coca Cola Company, comparethemarket.com and YouGov amongst others, the Association hopes that the conference will be a stimulating and possibly even challenging day – with plenty of breaks for networking along the way.

Speaking about the event, UK Cinema Association Chief Executive, Phil Clapp said:

‘We want the day to be one where we look at some of the familiar marketing challenges around cinema-going from a fresh perspective, as well as shining a light on good and maybe sometimes less good practice in the sector. We hope that everyone will leave with at least one idea of something they might look to do differently in their own business.’

The Association is hugely grateful for all the support and contributions they have received from industry colleagues who have helped to make the day happen. A full list of sponsors and supporters can be accessed here.
