Some of the UK’s best cinemas found themselves in competition today when the shortlist was announced for the 2016 Screen Awards.

The Awards, the premier such event for the wider UK cinema industry, features a range of categories across distribution, marketing and cinema exhibition. The latter features two separate ‘Cinema of the Year’ categories, one for companies with 24 screens or fewer and one for those with 25 or more screens.

For the smaller operator category, the shortlist was as follows:
