The incredible success of Beauty and the Beast saw cinema admissions in March 2017 hit heights not seen for at least 46 years.

Admissions for March 2017 have just been confirmed at 16,153,356, the highest level of cinema-going for that month for at least 46 years.

Key to that performance was the ongoing and extraordinary success of Beauty and the Beast, which racked up box office of well over £55 million during that month alone. Key support was also offered by Logan and Kong: Skull Island.

With key releases ahead week after week up to and beyond the Summer, expectations are high that 2017 could prove to be another record-breaking year for the UK cinema sector.
