Three leading members of the UK cinema community will be recognised for their longstanding contribution to the sector when they receive CineEurope Gold Awards at this year’s event in Barcelona.

The Gold Awards, which were introduced at the convention last year, recognise individuals who have give outstanding dedication and service to the European cinema industry.

Amongst those receiving awards at CineEurope, which takes place in Barcelona from 17-20 June, will be:

  • Simon Brown – Director, Film Content Protection Agency (FCPA)
  • Kam Dosanjh – Director of Operations, Vue International
  • Duncan Reynolds – Group Development Director, Odeon Cinemas Group

Commenting on the announcement, UK Cinema Association Chief Executive Phil Clapp said:

“Much of the success the UK cinema sector has enjoyed in being one of the most secure film territories in recent years can be put down to the dedication and expertise that Simon Brown has brought to his role in leading efforts to tackle film theft in cinemas, firstly in FACT and now in leading the Film Content Protection Agency. Many of the innovations that Simon has brought to the job have been picked up by his counterparts in other countries.

Although operating in different spheres and different companies, Kam Dosanjh and Duncan Reynolds both command huge respect and admiration across the entire industry for the contribution they have each made to transforming the UK cinema landscape.

I am sure that all Association members and colleagues across the industry will join me in congratulating Simon, Kam and Duncan on this much-deserved recognition.”
