The Into Film Festival – the largest free cinema festival for children and young people in the World – kicked off this week at cinemas across the UK.

This year’s event – which will run from 6-22 November across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland – is on target to be the largest Festival yet.

Supported by the cross-industry body Cinema First, the 2019 edition will see over 500,000 children, young people, parents and teachers attend over 2,800 screenings and events/ In total over 140 films will be shown at 580 UK cinema sites.

The launch event on 6 November saw over 40 UK cinemas screen the ‘Pupil Premiere’ of 2040, a documentary which asks children and young people to explore practical solutions to the environmental challenges facing our planet.
