The Global Cinema Federation (GCF), the worldwide grouping of cinema operators and trade bodies, has called for industry unity and support for the global cinema workforce during the current Coronavirus outbreak.
In a public statement released today, the Federation acknowledges the support offered by a range of national governments to ensure that the livelihoods of all of those working in the sector are protected.
Furthermore it commits itself to working with international institutions and partners to ensure that cinemas survive this challenging period.
The Federation also recognises the faith that studios, directors and everyone involved in the motion picture industry have shown in cinema exhibition over the recent weeks and makes clear its own belief that whatever the current challenges, the sector will return stronger than ever.
