Last week saw the start of this year’s Into Film Festival, the largest free cinema event for children and young people anywhere in the World, supported by the UK Cinema Association and the wider UK cinema industry.

The Festival, which kicked off on Friday 7 November in Cardiff, Belfast and London, will run across various parts of the UK until Friday 28 November. Over 400,000 children, young people and educators will attend over 3,000 screenings at 580 cinemas as part of the event. For tens of thousands of those involved, the Festival will provide their first ever visit to the cinema.

The Festival also involves a variety of special events including Q&As with key industry talent in front of and behind the camera, workshops and teach-ins for children and young people with a hope the events will inspire many to consider a future career in the screen industries.

The Into Film Festival is funded by the cross-industry body Cinema First, supported by the UK Cinema Association and the Film Distributors’ Association and their respective members.
