The UK Cinema Association this week published its 2025 annual report, setting out its activities across another varied and challenging year.
Commenting on the report, UK Cinema Association Chief Executive Phil Clapp said:
‘In terms of the fortunes of Association members, 2025 will go on record as a year of two distinct halves, with the early months into Summer showing once again the appetite of the UK audiences for a broad range of entertainment on the big screen and the extent to which only cinema can produce true cultural moments around film and film-watching.
While that positive momentum was sadly not maintained into the second half of the year due to a weaker slate and the under-performance of a number of key titles, our members were nevertheless heartened by the response of audiences both to the film slate when it was strong, and to their continued investment in improving the wider cinema experience.
We look forward to continuing success into 2026 and beyond.’
