On Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 April, the UK Cinema Association held its 2022 annual conference – Re-embracing the Big Screen Experience: audiences + content – at Picturehouse Central, London.
Attended by over 320 UKCA members and colleagues from across the industry, conference delegates participated in a wide range of presentations and panel sessions considering how to build on the strong recovery of the UK sector over recent months, not least in terms of broadening the cinema offer.
The conference got off to the best possible start through a mesmerising keynote address delivered by Kenneth Branagh, in which he set out his emotional attachment to the cinema experience. The conference unfolded in a similarly positive and positive vein, capturing the confidence widely felt about the future of the sector and of UK cinema-going.
These pages contain many of the presentations delivered, as well as images across the two days of the event.
Huge thanks to all those who attended and to our speakers and panellists. Also to those many sponsors noted here, without whom the event would genuinely not have been possible.
We look forward to seeing you all at our next conference, planned for Spring 2023.
